The first thing that struck me - why is this question so specific to India? Haven’t we Indians given the world enough sex through Kamasutra?
Humans long for sexual pleasures -external, stimulating experience outside of our committed relationship. And because ‘infidelity’ comes with its own share of turbulence and stress, wife swapping, or swinging as it is called, has been prevalent in India - much like in Europe and elsewhere.
